Time to get together for our next happy hour!. . . let's mix, mingle, network with new and familiar faces, and have some fun. . . so spread the word, and let's support a great cause!

We'll be benefiting Bike to the Beach for Autism. . . http://www.biketotheb... . . . an organization famous for it's annual "Bike to the Beach" event that raises money and awareness for Autism!. . . suggested $5 or $10 donation. Please note 80% of donations goes to Bike to the Beach, 20% of donations go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover meetup fees and expenses. The following groups will be joining us so far:

. 20s & 30s Going Out Group
. 80s in DC
. DC Euro
. House Music
. Tysons Singles
. Washington DC German Language

Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 250 folks. . . and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around. Also, DJ Teng will be spinning loungy groovy music for us!

For those that haven't been there before, Play is a colorful lounge that includes cube-style ottomans and low banquettes. It's saturated with color from cool mint greens to in-your-face oranges and reds. See www.playloungedc.com.

To help continue the friendly tone of this group. . . I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar.

Who attended?

  • 235 attendees
    •  This was my first event. It was great and I'll definitely attend more!
    • Ronia (Rho) (+3 guests)
I love these happy hours! I had a blast! I do wish there was more room though - it was really crowded!!!!
    •  Air Conditioning was Freezing Music was way too loud. That mostly deals with the venue... But overall I met some cool people and I'll be at the next event... Scavengers.... on your mark!!!!
    •  Cool, but really loud and really crowded. Like many of these, you had to yell to have a conversation.
    • Ford (+1 guest)
Wasn't one of their greatest. Met some good folks but the music was waaayyyy too loud. Can barely talk over the music and had to repeat and shout so many times.
    • Michael (+1 guest)
Met a handful of new people, had a good time.
    • Yenni (+1 guest)

Good times at Play Lounge....things got hoppin' after a little bit and the music was great. Next event we will have a designated time and place for our group to meet so we can all get to know one another....
    • C (+1 guest)
It was good to get there earlier because you could actually talk to people. Someone lent me their jacket because I was cold, people danced on the pole. I saw someone I hadnt seen in 10 years! Then a group of us went out afterwards and we literally had just met!
    •  Music was too loud. Perhaps a more even gender mix. Friendly group.
    •  Not so good. Music too loud and not a good selection. No connection between people. At least, it all was for a good cause.
    •  Hope everyone had a great time... we raised $1080 for Bike to the Beach for Autism! I've also uploaded some photos I took, feel free to upload any of yours!
    •  I had alot of fun. People were friendly and seemed to genuinly want to meet new people.
