Ok- Missed the Park City ski trip? I have Killington for you! So I hope you'll join us. Last Ski trip of the season!
3 Night Stay. We will carpool and leave Thursday morning around 6am.
Ski and Ride Friday and Saturday. Come back Sunday
You can also fly in if you wish. Rutland airport is 20 minutes from the resort and our home. It's just a straight shot off the main highway. I'll give specific directions as we draw closer to the trip
Killington Resort- it's nicknamed "The Beast" and for a reason. It is the considered the best ski resort on the east coast with over 750 skiiable acres and 71 miles of trails. But it's not just the skiing that's considered a monster. The Killington Region has many other activities including cross-country skiing, rock climbing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, spas, shopping, fine dining and nightlife. Yeah, you read that right. Nightlife in Vermont :)
WHO SHOULD COME
This resort has a bit of everything for everyone. Skiiers and riders should come. Beginners, intermediates, and advanced should hop along as well. The resort has an even distribution of trails for all skill levels. It sounds cliche but Killington really does have something for everyone. You can ski all day and not repeat a trail, that's what the locals say. 28% is for beginners, 33% is for intermediates, and 39% go to the advanced.
If you're thinking there isn't snow or good powder in March, think again! The month of March has historically gotten more snowfall than January or February. The other advantage is that you don't need to pay winter rates for March!
Cost and Lodging Accommodations
I found a nice 11 person home that is 15 minutes away from the resort and the nightlife. Cost covers lodging only. Hot tub, gas fireplace, 50 inch plasma tv, charcoal and gas grill.
- BR1- Queen Bed with jacuzzi(sold)
- BR2- Queen Bed (sold)
- BR3- 2 twins (sold)
- BR4- 3 twins, 2 twin cot mattresses, 1 air mattress 700 square feet of space (sold)
BR4 is upstairs and is supposed to be pretty big. If you don't want to use the twin cot mattress, just bring your own air mattress. Please let me know which you are paying for though so there is no confusion.
Dining and Breakfast
There is a $7 optional breakfast for Friday and Saturday morning that you can pay me onsite. Bring cash. This includes eggs, milk, orange juice, bread, bagels, bacon, cream cheese, butter, jam/jelly. No soda or alcohol is factored in. BYOB.
As with all past ski trips, we will do the traditional Potluck dinner on Thursday evening upon arrival. So I suggest everyone bring a dish to share. Or alcohol of choice (wine, spirit, beer). Even if we don't use the dish that night, we can use for it one of the other nights. You can also bring ingredients to cook in the kitchen. I would at least like to hit the Killington Nightlife on Friday and eat in for the other 2 nights.
