Ok, it's time for another club night!

I've made special arrangements with Josephine, Saturday night, September 26th. Cover is normally $20, but we get in free, yes FREE (until 11:30pm)!! Not only that:

  • We also get our OWN line (ask for the 20s & 30s meetup line)
  • We get VIP access to *entire* club
  • We get our own meetup wristbands and glow bracelets, so we can easily identify each other!! =)

From 9 - 11pm, we'll mix and mingle together before the regular crowd gets there. After 11pm, we'll keep it going all night with the regular Saturday night crowd! At our last club night event, we brought out over 300 people, so I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around too!

For those that haven't been there before, Josephine features a cavernous underground space that has a retro-chic French touch. See josephinedc.com. The groups that will be joining us are:

Novasingles.net
Kick-A$$ Professionals
German Language Group
The DMV Ladies
Single & Fabulous Gals

As usual, I encourage everyone to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE... and 20s & 30s Rockstars, please help make the newbies feel comfortable.

So spread the word, come on out, and let's have a fun night of dancing, great music, good drinks, and fun people! =)

McPherson Square Metro (orange and blue lines) is within walking distance. I suggest using wmata for travel planning.

This was my first time with this group, but not my first at Josephine's. I had a great time, as usual, and got to meet some nice people. I will def go out with this group again.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to blame you and the group. Thank you for your kind offer. My statement should've been conferred in a private email to you. We rarely cosponsor so it wasn't meant as a slight to you or the group. I plan to take you up on the offer. Ps: I don't drink rail! :-)

And yes, you are correct, I do my best with our events... and trust me, it's not easy, nor is it any fun putting together a guest list with over 800 rsvps. With any event, there will always be comments left where someone didn't have any fun. What would be helpful (tho rarely happens) are suggestions on what I could do on my end to help improve for future events.

Jose, I did put myself in your shoes, which is why I genuinely apologized, and offered drinks on me the next time. Not sure what more I can say, and not sure why you're assigning blame to me and the group with statements like "this is why we don't cosponsor." Re: your suggestions, I did submit the list stapled. Unfortunately, the bouncers split the list in two (right around the J's)... so names must have been lost then. Also unfortunately, the venue always has control of the list.

Suggestions: 1) the door manager should have a master list so as to double check, 2) the list should be stapled so that pages don't get lost, 3) bouncers shouldn't do the list

J.T., I know these events are tough to organize & I know you're trying your best, but put yourself in my shoes. 2 different bouncers & a door manager looked for my name & my friend and said we weren't on the list and were turned away. They even showed me the list and there were obviously pages missing because there was a huge gap in the Js. This is not the first time this has happened, but I didn't complain previously because the door people at those other clubs were cool about it.

Jose, I double checked the list I submitted to Josephine after I found out you were turned away. You were on there. It's unfortunate the Josephine staff missed your name, and I pointed it out to them. I apologize for what happened. Should you decide to come out to another one of our events, your next drink is on me. If this is the reason you don't cosponsor, then ok. But keep in mind I did everything right on my end. If you have suggestions on what I could have done better, please offer them.

Not being on the guestlist despite signing up way before the deadline, was embarrassing and humiliating in front of my NYC friends. This is why we don't co-sponsor.

Too loud. How are you supposed to meet people if you have to shout at the top of your lungs just to speak to the person right next to you?
    •  Had a very nice time, didn't get to meet any people but I was only there for about 1 1/2 hours...maybe at the next event I'll get a chance to meet some people but everyone seemed really nice...and outgoing

I had a great time as usual! I met a few people and had some nice conversations albeit I was yelling but it's a club!! The music is suppose to be loud. I also discovered the second bar which I didn't realize was back there before which was great for when the main bar was too busy. Ready for the next one!
    •  Horrible music. VERY loud. Several times during the evening they turned up the music so it was even harder to talk, they dimmed the lights so it was hard to see. The music was so obnoxious, it should be a crime to play it. They turned on a loud, screaming siren every once in a while. They did not allow me to bring in my bag. I had come on Metro so I could not just put it in my care. After walking around in the rain, trying to find a place to store it, I eventually decided to try sneaking it in under my jacket and it worked. They took an unreasonably long time to verify that people's names were on the list; everybody who could not fit under the awning got soaked because it was raining hard. Some people were turned away because they were wearing the wrong kind of shoes. There were security guard everywhere, I felt like I was being watched the whole time. I sat down on the sofa, they told me I was not allowed to sit on it. I stood in the wrong place they told me to move.
    •  Awesone, must do it again soon!
    • James (+2 guests)
Some interesting people, but I agree with others who said it was WAY too loud.
